Antique Restorations

We agree you do as little as possible to an antique as long as it's in its original state.  Although after surviving for over one, two, or three hundred years, you'll find that most have been through numerous restoration phases, repair and finish-wise.  This factor is something that many people seem to have a problem recognizing.  If it has been restored improperly, it can be experiencing deterioration and should be attended to by a qualified artisan.

The following is a testimonial to our qualifications.  Mr. Richard Horton has graciously given us permission to use his name and the information provided by him written in this statement, and we extend our undying appreciation for his generosity.  Mr. Horton called recently to update us on two of the many antique projects we assisted him in:

I.  One is described in Christies Auction House Catalog in the Thursday, December 2005 edition as "AN ORMOLU-MOUNTED PARCEL-GILT STEEL AND EBONY TABLE CABINET."  This project was brought to us in a box requiring major critical restoration methods.  To view the "Before & After Projects" on this piece, you may click on the link.  You will get a larger and more enhanced view of this piece if you click on the Photo Show .  Mr. Horton bought this ebony table chest on the advice given to him by one of the most prestige antique gallery owners in the country.  He purchased it at a local auction for the cost of $3,000 dollars.  After our museum quality restoration on this cabinet, it sold at CHRISTIE'S for the amount of $55,000 dollars.

II. The second is listed in Christies Catalog dated Thursday 23, February 2006, and described as "AN IMPORTANT LOUIS XV STYLE ORMOLU-MOUNTED KINGWOOD, TULIPWOOD AND END-CUT MARQUETRY BREAKFRONT ARMOIRE."  This cabinet was created by Francois Linke and a very important piece of antique history.   This was also in critical shape when we picked it up for restoring, and can be viewed on the  "Before & After Projects" section as well, but again, I would like to embark upon you to view the photo show in motion.  You will get a much closer look at details of all our projects.  This armoire, after our restoring, was auctioned off at Christies for $255,000 dollars.

To view some of our few restoration projects throughout the 25 years of service, please click Antique Restorations' Photo Gallery.

For a full motion view and closer look in more detail of these and other restored antiques, please click on the link below for viewing.  Your time will be richly rewarded by watching these museum quality awesome pieces as their richness of beauty come before you, which is accompanied with our musical theme "Carry Me Back to Yesterdays."
